My name is tom Carlin, and I live in Eagle, centrally located in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. I transplanted here from Indianapolis, Indiana in 1980 to be a ski bum. My working career started in woodworking, crafting fine cabinetry and furniture. After many years of woodworking I went to work for one of the premier builders of Trophy Homes in Vail Valley as a project manager. Most recently I have been doing some small real estate development. |

My love of cars started at a young age, rebuilding the engine of my first car: a 1967 VW Beatle. About a year later i acquired my first sports car, a 1973 Lotus Europa. With the Europa I did my first gymkhana (autocross) and the need for speed began. My wife says I can't leave anything the way it is when I get it, so of course I changed that Lotus to a weber head, upgraded cams and European pistons. While autocrossing I was exposed to the Lotus Seven and have always admired them.
After 30 years of life and ownership of British, Italian and German sports cars, I have come back to my roots. With the association I have established with Dick Brink and Birkin America, I now have the opportunity to own and build Birkins, one of the cars closest to the original Lotus Seven but with many performance enhanced improvements. I look forward to helping you with your Birkin purchase and build.
