Well preserved early 944 - unmolested original - only 62k miles - recent service

Originally sold October 15, 1983 by Autohaus, Ltd. in Iowa City, Iowa, this early 944 has clearly been maintained in top condition throughout its life. The first owner kept the car for 2 years, when the second owner bought the car October 3, 1985 with 4,850 miles. The second owner cared for the car for the next 30 years, eventually selling it to the third owner on April 26, 2016 at 61,347 miles.

Finished in its original Guards Red paint, with no accident history or evidence of any prior paint or body work. The original leather seats show some age related patina, but are in good overall condition. The original phone dial wheels wear Bridgestone Potenza tires with plenty of tread. The timing belt, balance shaft, seals, oil pan gasket and spark plugs were replaced April 27, 2016 at 61,347 miles. The most recent oil change and brake fluid flush were completed September 25, 2018.

Most 944s were equipped with a factory sunroof; this example does not have a sunroof, which provides additional headroom and eliminates the potential for sunroof leaks.

Factory options on this car are:

C02 - CATALYTIC CONVERTER
158 - BLAUPUNKT RENO SQR 46 RADIO (no longer with car, previous owner replaced with a modern Bluetooth unit)
404 - FRONT AND REAR SWAY BARS
454 - CRUISE CONTROL
455 - WHEEL LOCKS (original keyed wheel locks are not currently installed, but are included with car)
533 - ANTI THEFT DEVICE (factory alarm system)
567 - TINTED WINDSHIELD - UPPER DARKER
946 - LEATHER FRONT SEATS

Well maintained and unmolested low mileage 944s are becoming increasingly difficult to find. If you have not recently driven a well sorted 944, you owe it to yourself to experience all these cars have to offer. With a near perfect 50/50 balance, the 944 is a great handling car....on the track, on a winding country road, or around town. And a surprisingly practical road trip car, with its large cargo area in the rear which is easily expanded by folding down the back seat. This is an example you can drive and enjoy today, while it appreciates in value.
