This McLaren is one of the first 25 chassis ever built by Bruce McLaren in the 1960s. This M1 A/B is one of the best quality examples of these cars in the world. Over the past year, it has been freshened from one end to the other. The reparations of this lovely vehicle include the fuel cell, brakes, body shell, wheels and tires, all fluids, a tune-up, a new battery and many other details. This car runs, drives, looks, and sounds like a Can-Am racing car should! It is exciting just to listen to when the engine starts. We first learned about this McLaren when we first purchased it in 1995 and sold it to Charlie Barns of Dallas. He raced the car for a number of years and then retired from racing in 2010. Charlie passed away recently and we purchased the car from his family. We are very blessed to have the car as Charlie was not only a very good friend but a man with a lot of exciting race history, including locations all over the world. I was personally on the track with him while he was driving the car numerous times; he was not only a gentleman, but a highly-skilled, and successful, driver.
